Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris has dismissed claims that NASA‘s push for reforms is aimed at getting a share of the Jubilee government.Passaris argued that NASA’s agenda is clear, adding that they are not interested in any position in the alleged illegitimate government.Speaking to journalists when she attended a fundraiser at Chemi Chemi institute in Karen, Nairobi on Thursday, Passaris said NASA’s reforms agenda is genuine and meant to rectify Jubilee’s alleged impunity. She said the opposition is not begging Uhuru for dialogue, adding that they (NASA) have many options on how to achieve their reforms agenda.“We are not begging Uhuru for dialogue or seeking sympathy because our agenda is purely constitutional,” she said.Passaris said that NASA is determined to ensure institutional reforms and change in the country’s electoral systems.“We are going to fight no matter how long it takes so long as we clean up our election systems,” she said.Passaris urged NASA supporters to get ready for Raila’s swearing-in ceremony set for January 30.She said the swearing-in will set a new dawn in the country’s democracy.NASA has maintained that it will swear-in in Raila as the people’s president, even as calls to call off the planned coronation intensify. The opposition leaders have however vowed to go on with the swearing-in plan, despite the government terming it as illegal and highly treasonous.
