Photo/JoshuaK/Hivisasa.com] The National Lands Commission (NLC) has reiterated its commitment to ensuring all grabbed public land, by private individuals, are returned back to the community.NLC vice chairperson Abigael Mbagaya said they have already initiated a process of recovering the grabbed lands.Speaking at the Uasin Gishu county headquarters in Eldoret town, Mbagaya pointed out that over 1,000 public utilities had been grabbed but said they would soon be recovered."The law is very clear that where we fins land was irregularly acquired we ha powers to revoke the title deeds and this is what we will do in Uasin Gishu and any other part across the country," noted Mbagaya.She said nothing would stop them from recovering the grabbed land pointing out that NLC would enjoin to all cases in courts related to the public utilities."Public utility has never been available for allocation to private individuals and as a commission we will seek to be enjoined in all those cases involving grabbed public land so that we give our findings and views in the matter and allow the court to make an informed decision," noted the NLC vice chairperson.Among the land grabbed in Eldoret town include 700 acres belonging to the Kenya Prisons Service, land where Uasin Gishu district hospital is build as well as the county headquarters.
