Ltd's first scholarship programme at Shamberere Boys High School has seen the school record a good performance in the recently released 2017 KCSE results.The scholarship programme that was initiated in by the company in 2014, catered for 60 students. "The full scholarship programme ensured food, shelter and fees were provided," the company said.For the first time since it's inception, Shamberere will send students to Universities through the Joint Admissions Board (JAB). Four students managed to score C+, three B-, while two managed B plain. The 69 students who sat the exams recorded a mean score of 4.3.In a communication, the company which is popularly known as Kabras Sugar said: "The programme in its first instalment has elevated the status of Shamberere High School academically.""The sole purpose of West Kenya Sugar scholarship programme is not only to help the school and its students but families and the community at large."The community that largely constitutes of cane farmers has already expressed its appreciation in the fact that their children will now achieve higher education."Congratulations to the boys, the school and most importantly to the community."
