Area deputy Governor Titus Lotee says they need a huge budget to support the hungry population in the county.

Speaking while disbursing 50 bags of maize in Chepkobhe area from the county government , Lotee observed that the county has been compelled to suspend some of its development activities to attend to the hunger emergency.

The DG further told institutions to stop misinforming the national government about the hunger situation in the county which is seeing several vulnerable residents starve.

The county which has not received any funding from the national government , has already used Sh16 million to buy 400,000 bags of maize to feed the hungry population.

Residents from Chepkobhe area expressed their gratitude to the county government for the maize donation.

The education sector in the county has also been affected with the county government still in need of over 150 000 bags of grains to feed the hungry county.
