West Pokot County leaders have castigated alleged plans by NASA to swear in opposition leader Raila Odinga if President Uhuru Kenyatta will be sworn in.
The leaders say that the opposition coalition has lost direction and wants to derail the nation’s progressive development after a tough electioneering period.
Governor John Lonyagapuo and Senator Samuel Poghisio said NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga boycotted the repeat presidential election and should accept the outcome of the poll.
Lonyangapuo noted that President Kenyatta was victorious in the repeat election and it will be unconstitutional for the NASA camp to swear in Odinga as their president.
“The law is very clear, there is no way they will swear in Raila because he withdrew his candidature for the repeat election, they should stop mere threats and follow the constitution,” he said.
