An MP from Western Kenya who is allied to Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has warned a mega shift in the politics of the region before and after 2022.
Tindi Mwale (Butere) said on Tuesday during an interview with KTN News said Western region is predominantly opposition warning Jubilee elected MPs from the zone the will lose their seats come 2022.
"Western voted for opposition leader Raila Odinga for all the times he contested for the presidency. We are analyzing on how Jubilee made inroads in the region and gained parliamentary seats and find a permanent solution for that. Come 2022, they will all lose."
Leaders from Western led by Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula have been pushing for the formation of one party that will wrestle with Jubilee in 2022.
Mudavadi last week said plans are at an advanced stage for the dissolution of ANC and Ford Kenya to form one party for the region. He said many parties brew division.
Mwale said Western will have a presidential candidate during the 2022 polls because members of the Luhya community won't back any presidential candidate from any other region. He said the process of picking the candidate will be transparent.
