UDP Presidential candidate Cyrus Jirongo has exuded confidence in beating President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga during the forthcoming general elections.
Both President Kenyatta and Mr Odinga have been singled out by political pundits as the only two frontrunners in the race for State House.
Speaking on Friday, the former Lugari MP further noted that he was keen to wrestle NASA in the control of the Western Kenya region vote block.
“Our people must know they are not regarded by either NASA or Jubilee. I’m going to give them a run for their money,” Jirongo stated.
He lashed out at NASA co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula, saying the duo were duped the NASA power sharing deal.
“It’s disheartening that Luhyas in NASA have been promised non-existent positions, while those in Jubilee do not even know what their share is," he said.
The agreement saw former Prime Minister Raila Odinga made NASA presidential candidate, with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka expected to deputize him.
Both Mudavadi and Wetangula are poised for senior government positions should NASA win the presidency.
