Vote rich Western region will overwhelmingly vote for opposition despite President Uhuru Kenyatta’s numerous trips to the region, opposition leader Raila Odinga has said.
President Kenyatta has made numerous trips to the region since 2013, with the latest being last week when he toured Bungoma and Busia counties.
Odinga who was speaking at Luanda on Saturday said the region was solidly under his control and urged locals to register as voters.
“I have heard them saying that you are supporting them. However, with these numbers, it is an assurance that this is our zone which they should forget about,” Odinga said.
He added: “You have been voting against corruption and injustice and I know you will always do that. I am very hopeful that we shall send them home.”
Odinga was accompanied by several MPs and his new partner and Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi.
