Ford Kenya Party leader and opposition coalition NASA co-principal Moses Wetangula has moved to dispel claims that the vote-rich Western Kenya region is a swing vote.
Speaking at Kabula trading centre in Bungoma during a political rally, the Bungoma Senator exuded confidence that NASA would win the presidency by more than 10 millon votes during the forthcoming general elections as projected by the outfit.
“We have checked the numbers from NASA strongholds and we have over 10 million votes in our basket. The DP should be told that western Kenya will not be a swing vote as it has been the case in the past,” the lawmaker noted.
He further took a swipe on the Jubilee adminstration, accusing President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto of failing to control the high cost of living, affirming NASA's commitment to stabilize prices of common commodities should the opposition win the presidency.
“A government that commits economic crime on its people does not warrant to be called a government. With the high cost of living, Jubilee should be sent home. You will see how NASA will uplift the lives of Kenyans after the August polls,” he said.
Nasa is fronting former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as its presidential candidate, with Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka expected to deputize him.
