Amani National Congress (ANC) nominated Member of Parliament, Godfrey Osotsi, on Friday accused a section of NASA affiliate parties leaders from Western region for what he described as parallel handshake.
Mr. Osotsi was referring to the 19 MPs from Western region who went to meet the DP on Thursday at his Karen office.
Mr. Osotsi criticised the meeting which according to him was meant to facilitate the leaders' personal gains.
"We ca not support the meeting that is focusing to spearhead the political destiny of an individual," he said.
According to the lawmaker, the 19 leaders from the Western region were taking advantage of the President Uhuru and Raila Odinga's handshake to push for their own agenda for personal gain.
"The handshake had an important agenda but some leaders are taking advantage and organising parallel handshakes," said Mr. Osotsi.
His comments came following the Thursday's meeting between deputy president and 19 member of parliaments from the Western region particularly from Trans Nzoia, Kakamega and Bungoma counties.
According to the 19 MPs led by Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali, the meeting was basically to talk about Western region development projects among them revival of industries and upgrade of roads.
"From the meeting, a 27km stretch of Mumias-Musanda-Sinditi road and another 17km Mumias-Indagalasia road will be planned for ugrading by the national government," said Johnstone Naicca, MP Mumias West.
