The latest wave of dissent has been set into motion by Bukusu elders in Trans Nzoia who have criticized Wetangula for allegedly failed to c0ntain emerging divisions in the party.

The leaders who spoke in Kitale on Sunday, read  malice in perceived Wetangula's silence on some issues affecting the party, which they say are crippling its growth.

Led by the elders' Secretary General John Wepukhulu, they claimed that the Senator's allies are undermining the leadership of  Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba.

"Most problems are stirred by close friends of Wetangula and we are wondering if he's behind the troubles," Wepukhulu said.

Recently, it was rumoured that Khaemba had ditched Ford Kenya and moved to Musalia Mudavadi's Amani National Congress amid claims of 'sabotage' within the outfit, claims which he has since dismissed.
