Wetangula on his Facebook account said his Ford Kenya party will not support the constitutional amendment calls spearheaded by Raila.

"Our stand today as a party is that we won't support referendum calls being preached by some of the leaders, not today not ever," Wetangula posted.

He said the democracy we are enjoying today as a country was fought for by our forefathers.

Wetangula said most leaders have deviated from the real course of democracy and only think about themselves.

The Bungoma senator fell out with Raila after he was ousted from leader of minority position in the senate last month.

Wetangula had claimed that Raila Odinga crossed his fingers as he was humiliated, degraded and demeaned by ODM MP's and did nothing about it when he rose to speak.

The bitter Wetangula swore not to ever work with Raila in future asserting he was no longer interested in the minority position again.

Since then, he has been a lone ranger doing things on his own and most of the time differing with Raila.

The Ford Kenya leader vowed to team up with his Amani National Congress (ANC) counterpart, Musalia Mudavadi, in uniting the Luhya community in order to support one of their own in 2022 elections.
