Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula may have after all ditched his ANC counterpart Musalia Mudavadi despite having agreed to form a coalition.
At Nyamira on Friday, Wetangula said his party does not need support from anyone ahead of 2022 polls.
"Ford Kenya is not interested in coalitions or merger. We all want to strengthen our party and field a candidate in 2022 polls," he said.
Similar sentiments were echoed by West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi who said the party will not play second fiddle to any party.
And on Monday, Mudavadi also dismissed the idea of folding up NASA coalition contrary to his initial idea of forming a partnership with Ford Kenya.
"NASA is here to stay. We are reaching out to all leaders as we embark on the process of strengthening it. We will not fold it up," he said.
The Ford Kenya party has since rolled registration activities in the larger Nyanza region which has traditionally voted for Raila Odinga.
