Wetangula received the endorsement on Saturday, during a National Governing Council meeting held in Nairobi.

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama and ODM Secretary General Agnes Zani attended the event.

The Bungoma Senator accepted the endorsement and expressed confidence that unity will prevail in Cord as it settles on a single candidate.

“Cord’s presidential candidate will be unveiled at the right time,” he said.

Senator Muthama, while addressing the delegates, told off Jubilee leaders who were spreading lies that there was a rift between him and Kalonzo.

“I know you are waiting eagerly for a break up but you will not see it, Raila, Kalonzo and Wetangula are a one united unit,” he said.

Wetangula is seeking Cord’s presidential ticket, also being sought by ODM’s Raila Odinga and Wiper’s Kalonzo.
