Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula maintains he will support amendment of the constitution despite spirited efforts by DP William Ruto to oppose it.
Even though the proposal to introduce parliamentary system of government is yet to be formally unveiled by Raila Odinga, it is believed that President Uhuru Kenyatta has also endorsed the move.
And despite his persistent criticism on Raila following his ouster as Senate Minority Leader, Wetangula said the referendum would pave way for all inclusive government.
"Yes I support referendum because that is the only way we can heal from a bitterly contested election. It is time to back parliamentary system of government.
"The system as propose din the Bomas Draft would give all communities equal chances of governing this country," he said on Sunday.
Before his surprise U-turn, Wetangula had contested contested referendum calls insisting that it would be a waste of time.
A part from parliamentary system of government, Raila is also seeking to push for introduction of 14 regional government that will work along with county units.
