Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula has appealed to Cord supporters to be patient and allow the coalition chose its presidential candidate for 2017 general election.

Wetangula who was speaking in West Pokot on Saturday said that the coalition on an agreement that will see all parties satisfied with the choice made in regards to the presidential candidate.

"I remember in 2002 when Raila Odinga said Kibaki 'tosha'. It was in October and the elections were held in December. Why are we being rushed today to decide on Cord's flagbearer position? We still have a lot of time towards 2017 general election. We should be given time to make our decision," said Wetang'ula.

He speaking during the burial of former Sigor lawmaker Wilson Litole.

This comes after Wetang'ula had earlier stated that Raila was 'old' and should either support him or Kalonzo Musyoka for 2017 polls.

He also used the podium to preach Cord unity that has been questioned over the recent weeks.
