The opposition tem under the stewardship of Raila Odinga is yet to settle on her candidate with only eight months to general elections.

And on Sunday, Wetangula urged opposition supporters to back his bid, arguing that he is in pole position to beat President Kenyatta.

“I have always told my brothers to support my bid because I am ready for the top job. It is a call and I believe that I have enough credentials to take me there,” he while addressing a rally in Nyamira.

“I am sure of beating Uhuru because I have a good support base. My appeal to you is that help me get the opposition ticket and the rest will be easier for me,” he said.

Wetangula was accompanied by Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale and aspiring Nyamira governor Mwancha Okioma.
