Speaking at a political rally at Shinyalu market in Kakamega County on Saturday, Wetangula said he anticipates a nod from other NASA heavyweights to go for the country's top seat.

"I have campaigned across the whole country and the prevailing mood is one for change. I am sure that my counterparts in the super alliance will settle on me to carry NASA's flag in the August 8 polls," Wetangula said as quoted by Nation.

He added that NASA was the right step to liberate Kenya from the bad leadership of President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.

"Our focus is to kick Jubilee out of power and start the difficult job of rebuilding the country and ensure all regions benefit from government development projects without seclusion," he said.

The Ford Kenya leader reassured supporters that he supported the idea of a single opposition flag-bearer in the August polls.

"For us, it will not matter whether it is Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetang'ula or Musalia Mudavadi who is picked to be the flagbearer. We are focused on building a strong opposition," he added.
