Wetangula, during a funeral service in the county on Saturday denounced his political affiliation with opposition leader Raila Odinga, citing his recent unceremonious Senate Minority Leader ouster.

According to Oluoch, however, the Ford Kenya party leader is yet to officially withdraw his membership and that of his party from the alliance.

"Wetangula remains part of NASA. His recent anti-Odinga remarks only mean that he will not support Raila's political moves but remains a NASA member and co-leader," he said.

With the alliance currently facing a possible complete fall resulting from a series of infightings which started after Wetangula and his co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia snubbed Odinga's January 30 mock presidential inauguration, the lawmaker maintained that it remains intact.

"NASA is not dead and remains a legal and registered political front. Our leadership is also intact as despite our leaders confrontations lately, they have managed to continue their stay within the coalition," he added.

Wetangula and Mudavadi have since announced plans to merge their Ford Kenya and Amani National Congress (ANC) parties respectively into a single unit in a bid to block Odinga's support from the Western Kenya region.
