Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale has hinted that his Bungoma counterpart Moses Wetangula may be the surprise National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate.
Khalwale, a close ally of Wetangula, said the Ford-K party leader could be the hidden bullet to send Jubilee home in the forthcoming August polls.
“Wetangula is the only NASA co-principal who has never run for the presidency. We can’t, therefore, be the weakest candidate,” he said.
NASA, however, is yet to settle on a flag bearer with Khalwale hinting at Raila as the favourite candidate but failed to rule out Wetangula’s chances of being the alliance's presidential candidate.
“From the previous presidential results, Raila commands 5 million voters, Kalonzo 1 million and Mudavadi 400,000 but Wetangula may be that hidden bullet and if given a chance, may surpass Raila’s 5 million,” said Khalwale.
The vocal senator conversely said NASA has numbers to win the August elections.
