Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has accused the Jubilee administration of launching development projects in Western Kenya with a motive to deceive the Luhya community for votes ahead of the August elections.
According to the Nation, the Senate Minority Leader noted that the Luhya community will support the Opposition in the forthcoming elections, adding that graft scandals that have rocked the administration have hurt the country's economy.
"President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are busy making forays in western and launching development projects," he said as quoted by the Nation.
"But what is happening is a ploy to hoodwink the Luhya community to back Jubilee. Let them know our people will not be fooled that easily," he added.
Speaking in Shinyalu, Kakamega on Saturday, the legislator further challenged the residents to register as voters when the the mass voter registration exercise kicks off on Monday.
