Wetangula who spoke in Homa Bay on Monday told Lowassa to focus at championing for the development of Tanzania and stop advising Kenyans who to vote for during the August presidential election.

Lowassa during the burial of former Interior cabinet secretary Joseph Nkaissery at Ilbisil in Kajiado said members of the Maasai community should support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s bid for a second term in office.

“Lowassa should stop interfering with Kenyan affairs,” Wetangula said.

“The Maa community decided who to vote for long time ago.”

Lowassa, later at an interview with a local media house said the party he leads, Chadema, had agreed to support Uhuru’s re-election.

“We have had formal meetings as a party and unanimously agreed to support the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta,” he later said.

“He is a good man. He supports the integration of the EAC and respects leaders of the opposition.”

He, however, clarified that the ultimate decision on who becomes president would be made by Kenyans when they go to the polls on August 8.
