Addressing mourners in Nalondo, Kanduyio Constituency in Bungoma on Saturday, Wetangula said that Raila mistreated him the way he did to Former Vice Presidents Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and Michael Wamalwa as well as Deputy President William Ruto.

The senator, however, said that he will use his woes to soar higher, adding that he has nothing against the ODM leader.

“How Raila treated me recently is exactly what he did to Wamalwa, Kalonzo, and Ruto. Afterward they all rose to become vice presidents. In my case I will surpass them and rise even higher,” said Wetangula.

Raila and Wetangula have been in good terms since the senator skipped the controversial swearing in ceremony at Uhuru Park. ODM leaders accused Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi of ANC and Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka of cowardice.

The situation worsened when Wetangula was stripped of the post of Senate Minority Leader. The senator has vowed to fight hard to defend his political career following the differences with the Former Prime Minister.
