Embattled Senate Minority Leader Moses Wetangula has dismissed internal coup waged by ODM senators as 'imaginary' adding that he will continue to execute his roles.
Senators allied to NASA on Tuesday replaced Wetangula with Siaya Senator James Orengo and are due to officially communicate the new turn of events to speaker Kenneth Lusaka.
But in a press conference, Wetangula's Ford Kenya party viciously fought back, insisting that only NASA summit had powers to remove their leader.
"He can only be removed by NASA summit and no such position or action has been taken," said Bonnie Khalwale, adding that the move has not been communicated to Wetangula.
He added: "Ford Kenya shall continue working with new partners as official opposition team in parliament. We urge our members to ignore such a more."
Both Ford Kenya, Wiper and ANC insists that ODM party is no longer part of the opposition after Raila Odinga's decision to work with Jubilee administration.
Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala will deputise Orengo while his Narok counterpart Ledama Ole Kina will serve as Minority Deputy Whip.
