The Cord co-principal on Tuesday took to twitter to dismiss the claim stating that the photo did not represent the actual situation on the ground.

"Those who were in Kakamega County on Sunday know weather there were people or not," Wetanguala tweeted.

However, Wetangula accused a section of online users of manipulating pictures in order to send the wrong message to his supporters.

The senator seemed to be pointing a figure at controversial blogger Robert Alai as the mastermind of the photo that was doing rounds on social media for the better part of Tuesday.

"It is foolish to say Weta was waiving at a void in Kakamega. You can manipulate pictures to suit selfish interests. Everybody knows Alai," added Wetangula.

On Tuesday social media user ridiculed the senator after the photo emerged online.

This is not the fast time Wetangula has been ridiculed, in July Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka tweeted a photo of a mutilated picture that showed a goat keenly listening to Wetangula while he was addressing a senate sitting.
