The Ford Kenya party leader has been silent recently, following his fallout with opposition leader Raila Odinga, marking his return by opposing the former Prime Minister's proposal for the introduction of a 3-tier government.

Speaking in Sabatia, Vihiga county on Saturday, the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal noted that the nation is yet to fully adopt to its current constitution which was introduced only 8 years ago, terming the proposal as unacceptable.

"The agenda about the introduction of another level of government should not be entertained. We cannot again change the constitution when we have not even fully adopted the current one," he said.

His remarks were echoed by former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, who also took issue with the ongoing push to further expand the executive to house more leaders.

He poked holes into the initiative spearheaded by Odinga's lieutenants, terming it as a plan to reward a few political elites at the expense of millions of Kenyans, vowing to spearhead it's suppression.

"We will not allow a few people to interfere with our constitution for their own selfish reasons. We will be on the front line to ensure that the referendum fails," said Khalwale.
