Just hours after the firing of his bodyguard Simon Lonyang' after an altercation with his seniors at the Supreme Court on Monday, Bungoma Senator-elect has vowed to challenge his dismissal in court.

Speaking to KTN, Wetang'ula who is also NASA principal accused the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett for allegedly overstepping his role, the Bungoma Senator saying that the IG has no powers to sack anybody.

According to Wetang'ula, only the Police Service Commission has powers to sack police officers where necessary. He added that the decision to sack his bodyguard endangers is life.

"This amounts to endangering my life.Let Kenyans know that should anything happen to my life, the Inspector General of Police should be held responsible," said the former Cabinet Minister.

The Bungoma Senator said that he has already written to the Police Service Commission over the matter and that he will send a group of Lawyers to court tomorrow (Wednesday) to challenge Lonyang's dismissal.
