Cord principal and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has said the Cord coalition will collapse if one of its leaders left it ahead of the next general elections.
Speaking in Ahero during a prayer meeting on Sunday, the senator said that Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and himself were key in the coalition and were the people able to unite the country.
"If any of us quits Cord, the coalition shall carve in before the next general elections. We are all critical in the ambitions of the three parties in the coalition," said Wetangula.
Wetangula accused the Jubilee government of pretending to be uniting the country yet were only involving two communities in government.
The senator assured Cord supporters at the meeting that the coalition was more than united and ready to give alternative leadership.
"We are the alternative that Kenya needs since this government (Jubilee) has failed to unite the nation towards development. They claim to be working towards uniting Kenyans yet they only favour their communities in government involvement," he said.
He added that those expecting a rift in the coalition leadership would be disappointed since they all had a common goal which he said was having the Jubilee government out of power by them (Cord) winning the next general elections.
The three Cord leaders have declared their interest in the race to State House with Raila Odinga expected to launch his presidential bid soon.
Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka have already launched their bids.
