Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has planned to host more than 2,000 delegates from Western Kenya and members of New Ford Kenya at his Kanduyi home on Sunday.

Trans Nzoia senatorial aspirant Ken Wafula who is also one of the meeting coordinators yesterday said the meeting will be about the politics of Western Kenya.

“We are working on logistics but I can confirm all is set for the major meeting that will also serve as a key statement on the politics of Western Kenya,” he said.

Budalangi Member of Parliament Ababu Namwamba has also insisted that he is working for the unity of the Luhya community ahead of next years’ elections..

“We will neither move back to Cord nor to Jubilee. We are focused on uniting our people and charting our own political course,” said Namwamba.

Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi who also mobilizing people for Sunday meeting said the Luhya community had about 1.5 million registered voters and that Wetangula’s presidential bid should not be taken lightly.

“We fully stand with Weta as a region and as a party. He is our presidential candidate”, said Wamunyinyi.
