Speaking during a press statement on Friday, Wetangula claimed that Ethuro influenced the outcome of the vote on Election Laws (Amendment) Act, 2016 which adopted amendments to the law allowing manual identification of voters in the August polls.

"The Speaker conspired with Jubilee and rigged the vote. He has imported the bad manners of cheating to the Senate," the Senate Minority Leader claimed.

"When the Speaker rigs an election because he is conducting himself as a representative of the Jubilee regime, it is unfortunate," he added.

Wetangula further claimed that the amendments made to the Elections Act leaves a lot of electoral malpractices loopholes.

Cord Co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka echoed Wetangula's allegations, accusing the Jubilee administration of scheming to rig the next general elections.

"The whole country watched the debate. This election will be stolen. Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery should be ready because we will not allow such theft to continue," he said.
