Kakamega senator Bony Khalwale has dismissed claims that Cord co-principals Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka have been sidelined in the formation of the National Super Alliance (NASA).
The flamboyant senator was speaking after it emerged that Raila Odinga was only accompanied by ANC party leader Musalia Mudavati in his tour of Tharaka Nithi County.
“Ford Kenya will surely form part of the National Super Alliance (NASA), that you be assured,” he said during an interview with a leading TV station.
Khalwale who has been a close ally of Wetangula also reiterated that they were aware of the ongoing activities towards the formation of NASA citing that they have always been involved in everything taking place.
He however assured Cord supporters that the sentiments echoed by Kalonzo Musyoka meant that they were to have a normal meeting with Mr Odinga and Musyoka’s Wiper party is one of the parties that will form NASA.
“When Kalonzo talked of meeting Raila to discuss what they said with Mudavadi, that is a normal meeting and even we as Ford Kenya will be attending that meeting at Capital Hill,” he added.
NASA is expected to be in place by February next year in an attempt by the opposition to ascend to power.
