With the 2017 poll coming close and with the question of who will be the Cord coalition's flag bearer, Busia Senator Amos Wako who was elected on an ODM ticket has said that Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula is the right man to take on President Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2017 general elections.
Speaking in Nambale on Saturday, the former Attorney General said that he was behind Wetangula's nomination as a Member of Parliament in 1992 by KANU because he believed in his abilities as an astute debater especially in a parliament that was dominated by legal minds from the opposition.
"I proposed Wetangula's name. Although he almost missed it, I convinced Moi to include him and he finally accepted. I am not endorsing him as my preferred candidate but I know he is a good leader," Wako said.
The senator was also quick to affirm his commitment to the opposition Cord coalition and said he was there to stay and that anyone propagating rumors that he is planning to cross over to Jubilee was dreaming.
