Chief Justice David Maraga has gotten backing from the Nasa coalition following an onslaught from the Jubilee government.

Ford Kenya party leader who is one of the coalition's principals on Sunday told Maraga to 'stay steady and remain strong' even amid mounting pressure from a section of Jubilee politicians who are questioning his neutrality.

"And to Maraga we are telling you to stay steady and remain strong because the Jubilee government does not believe in the rule of law. They believe in the rule of the jungle," Wetangula said during a campaign rally in Nyamira.

Maraga has come under intense pressure from some political qyarters who insist that he could be holding briefs for the opposition.

Two weeks ago, president Uhuru Kenyattta and his deputy William Ruto launched a scathing attack on the Judiciary saying they were working in cahoots with the opposition to scuttle the August 8 polls.

However Maraga has since dismissed the allegations as baseless and unfortunate.
