NASA co-principal and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has reiterated negotiations between the opposition coalition and Jubilee government.
Wetangula pleaded with President Uhuru Kenyatta to initiate a dialogue to calm the ongoing political temperatures in the country.
“We want to cool down the political temperatures in the country which if not handled well will escalate into something else, Uhuru Kenyatta has no option," said the Ford Kenya party leader.
Speaking in Bukokholo village, Sirisia constituency on Saturday, Bungoma county, he noted that Kenya was divided yet Uhuru had failed to hear pleads of the opposition leaders.
“This country is hurting. It’s divided from top to bottom. Uhuru is acting like the proverbial ostrich that buries its head in the sand and assumes everything is okay."
He further slammed the Jubilee government, accusing it of depriving Kenyans their constitutional rights, citing withdrawal of security detail of his three colleagues - Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, and Kalonzo Musyoka.
"We can’t have a government which deprives leaders of their security details and alleges everything is going on well," he said during the Burial of Vincent Furukha, father to Levi Makali.
Also present was Governor Wycliffe Wangamati, MPs Didmus Barasa (Kimilili), John Waluke (Sirisia) among others, who called for the Luhya unity.
