Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has, in a turn of events, reached out to opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking in Kisumu, during the close of the secondary schools heads meeting, bringing together school heads from Bungoma county on Tuesday, the Ford Kenya party leader called upon Odinga to back his 2022 presidential bid.
Only days after a fallout that saw Wetangula vow to teach the National Super Alliance (NASA) chief a lesson, for allegedly masterminding his Senate Minority Leader ouster, Wetangula said that Odinga, whom he has supported twice for the presidential contest, should now repay his kindness.
The request, he said, applies to all the other NASA co-principals as well, expressing confidence of emerging the victor in the race.
''Without any fear of contradiction, I will be on the ballot in 2022 and am asking my brother Raila, my brother Kalonzo and my brother Mudavadi to let me try this horse this time,'' he is quoted by the Citizen Digital.
He, however, maintained that the call does not exclude the other political players , calling upon the entire nation to rally behind him, maintaining that he has what it takes to lead in that capacity.
''This does not preclude anybody else from asking me to support them because that is what politics is all about,'' he is further quoted.
