Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetangula has asked Cord partners to democratically share elective posts where they enjoy support.
Addressing party supporters on Monday at Koblenz Hall in Mombasa County, Wetangula said the party would not present a candidate for the Mombasa gubernatorial seat, but would instead focus on the senatorial race.
He pointed out that his party was depending on reciprocation from Cord partners as it prepares for the 2017 general election.
"For example, both Nairobi and Mombasa cities are two major cosmopolitan regions. We expect Cord parties to share the spoils equally," he said.
"We have earmarked Yassir Bajaber for the Mombasa senator's post and expect the other CORD partner parties to respect our wishes and support us as we shall also reciprocate with the other elective posts that partner parties might be interested in," he added, as quoted by the Standard.
Ford-Kenya deputy party leader, and Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwalwe echoed Wetangula’s remarks, saying the party was ready to support Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar in the gubernatorial race, if Wiper Party supports Ford-Kenya's Bajaber for the senatorial post.
