Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula has said that NASA is not under any pressure to name its presidential candidate.

Speaking in Kisii on Sunday, Wetang'ula said the party will only name their flag-bearer when it is deemed fit.

He dismissed reports of an imminent split in the coalition as mere propaganda from Jubilee Party and termed as hogwash the speculations that Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka was on his way out of NASA.

Wetang'ula said this while receiving Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka to Ford Kenya from ODM.

The Bungoma senator was accompanied by Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale and Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa.

Wetang’ula took a swipe at a section of Jubilee leaders, saying they will not coerce the coalition into naming the flag-bearer.

“Ruto is suffering from the hyena syndrome. He is like a hyena following us all the way salivating as he waits to see if a hand falls for him to eat,” he said.

He added, “There is enough time and nobody should dictate to us the choice of the NASA flag-bearer. We are partners and at the same time competitors within the alliance, but we must remain focused and determined to achieve our goal of removing Jubilee from power.”
