Ex-Senate Minority Leader Moses Wetangula says dumping Raila Odinga is a blessing in disguise to his political endeavors.
At a function on Saturday, Wetangula announced termination of his partnership with Raila, accusing him of shortchanging those who help him to climb to leadership.
"I no longer have anything to do with Raila. I wish him all the best but as Luhya community, we shall no longer allow him to misuse us," he had said.
On Monday, ODM party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna was quick to dismiss Wetangula, terming his move as inconsequential.
But according to Wetangula, he may be elected deputy president in future, claiming that even William Ruto was once dumped by Raila after helping him become Prime Minister.
"I will be like William Ruto. He was chased by Raila at some point but he would later on become Deputy President," he argued.
For weeks now, NASA leaders Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka have accused Raila of secretly signing a deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta behind their backs.
In his defense, Raila has previously said, the three co-principals had abandoned him during the January 30th mock swearing in.
