Police have denied reports that a bodyguard attached to Bungoma Senator-elect Moses Wetangula has been fired.

The reports emerged after Simon Lonyang' was involved in a scuffle with security officers at the Supreme Court entrance on Monday.

Assistant Inspector General George Kinoti said in a tweet on the National Police Service’s handle that the disciplinary process.

"DIG Mr Kitili refutes claims officer attached to Sen Wetang'ula sacked. States disciplinary procedures not concluded," the tweet reads.

The bodyguard was arrested after he insisted that he should be allowed within the precincts of the court with Wetang'ula while armed.
