Bungoma senator-elect Moses Wetangula's bodyguard Simon Lonya will be arraigned in court today Tuesday.

According to The Star, Lonya will be charged for causing disturbance at the Supreme Court on Monday.

He was arrested following a scuffle with police officers manning the Court's entrance after he allegedly insisted to be allowed in while still armed so as to protect Wetangula.

Lonya was ejected from the court precincts and taken behind bars after his gun was withdrawn.

The fracas led to a bitter exchange between NASA leaders and the police.

It also saw NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi briefly restrained from accessing the court grounds.

According to an August 25 notice, the Judiciary directed that only those police officers who are deployed in the court premises should be armed.

"Kindly note that apart from police officers who are deployed at the courts, no other persons shall be allowed to access our premises with firearms," said the order.
