“We have stepped up efforts to rid the country of the evil forces. I have no apologies to make in taking the tough measures we are taking,” President Kenyatta said.

The President – who was accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto – spoke on Monday when he addressed rallies at Kizingitini and Mpeketoni in Lamu County, and at Garsen in Tana River County.

The President also issued 2,000 title deeds to land owners in Lamu County, underscoring his administration’s determination to solve the land problem in the Coastal region.

He further moved to underline the progress his government has made in the last four years, saying they have settled more than 3 million Kenyans nationally in line with the pledge made to the people.

“We said we had a solution to the land problem and promised to deliver 3 million titles so that Kenyans get title deeds to effectively use their land to improve their lives,” President Kenyatta pointed out, saying he was glad that he has delivered that pledge especially in the Coast region.

On his part, Deputy President William Ruto said Jubilee believes issuing title deeds to land owners will solve the problem of squatters in the Coast region.

He took a swipe at the opposition, saying they have focused on dividing and discrimination Kenyans on tribal lines.

“We are telling the opposition that dividing Kenyans on tribal and religion lines will not solve the land problem,” the DP said.
