NAIVAWASCO managing director Joseph Theuri said the company has the capacity to supply all Naivasha residents with clean and safe water.

He said the company has made massive investments in providing fluoride free water and in large quantities to sustain the needs of area residents.

“I will confidently say that NAIVAWASCO has the capacity to supply clean and safe water to all Naivasha residents but the challenge remains that there are people who sink shallow boreholes and sell the water to people and it is not safe,” said Theuri.

He was speaking during a morning interview with Inooro TV on Thursday.

The MD accused some landlords for endangering the lives of their tenants as the water is usually contaminated and unsafe for both human consumption and domestic use.

He said they should apply to the company to have water supply connected to their houses.

“Some landlords sink shallow wells and sell it in kiosks and it is improper because it is contaminated…let them apply and it will only take 24 hours for connection from our water line and be safe,” he said.

The county Public Health department led by Samuel King’ori has issued notices to all landlords in the are who have shallow boreholes to desist using them.
