The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet) says it has not endorsed any presidential candidate for the upcoming general elections.

Union's Secretary General Akelo Misori said all their members have their democratic right to choose leaders of their choice without being coerced."Our members will solely vote in their preferred candidates. As a union we don't take sides we have membership across the political divides," Misori said in Eldoret, Saturday during the Uasin Gishu County Kuppet Annual General Meeting (AGM)."We have advised teachers to choose leaders who have our interests at heart. We have suffered a lot," he added. Misori however, called upon teachers across the country to be ambassadors of peace before, during and after the August 8th general election. "Elections is just a one day affair. Why should you kill your neighbour because of a politician who even doesn't know you? Let us maintain peace," noted Misori. He urged teachers to support their colleagues who are contesting in various political seats across the country.
