Will Kalonzo ever lead this nation? Well, the race to state house has taken a different twist after the National Super Alliance (NASA) declared Cord Leader Raila Amolo Odinga the flag bearer in a historic event that went down at Uhuru Park.

Before Raila, former prime minister, was named to battle it out with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto, politicians from Ukambani led by National Assembly Minority leader Francis Nyenze had affirmed that they will walk away from the alliance if Kalonzo is shortchanged.

Kalonzo, a former vice President, has an uphill task to convince the likes of Former lands Minister Charity Ngilu, Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior, Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) leader Wavinya Ndeti and others to rally the electorate behind him again to rise to power.

Earlier on, the Ukambani political kingpin had insisted that he will not allow anyone to shortchange him as he sought to rise to power. The Kamba community feels betrayed. It will be tough to convince his diehards that he meant what he said.

The wiper Patron has been fighting hard to do away with the tag watermelon. What took place at Uhuru speaks different about his political stand. Leaders from this part of the nation are losing trust in Kalonzo.
