Campaigning for Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua will be tough if National Super Alliance (NASA) names Wiper Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka its Presidential flag bearer.
Although Mutua has been rated among the county bosses who are likely to retain their seats in the forthcoming general elections by opinion polls things are likely to change depending on who NASA will give the presidential ticket.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap leader will have to burn the midnight oil to retain his seat if the National Super Alliance (NASA) agrees to back Kalonzo for Presidency.
The unity shown by Charity Kaluki Ngilu, Chama Cha Uzalendo Wavinya Ndeti, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior, Machakos Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala and other leaders from Ukambani will make it no easy day for the county boss to retain power. Kalonzo has promised to teach Mutua and other defectors a bitter lesson.
The former Vice President will be more powerful if he has chosen to contest against President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto. NASA leaders including Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga, ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula.
Leaders from this region are ready to do anything within their means to ensure that Kalonzo becomes the next President of Kenya. These leaders will camp in all Ukambani counties to ensure that NASA clinches all seats. The desire to have a president is likely to change the mindset of different residents.
