Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang Nyong'o has a busy schedule in waiting after returning to the country from the United States.
Nyong'o landed in the country on Tuesday and was welcomed by top county officials after a long break he took at the US.
The county chief is among governors under pressure to deliver after a recent survey indicated he is among the top performing county bosses.
According to the survey, Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru, is the top performing governor with the best approval ratings followed closely by Makueni's Prof Kivutha Kibwana while Nyong'o came in third.
Nyong'o, an economist and social scientist during his inaugural speech outlined a raft of measures he intends to roll out in his quest to improve the livelihoods of the people of Kisumu after a grueling campaign period in which he faced then governor Dr Jack Ranguma.
Following his return, the Prof will be expected to lead in the implementation of a number of projects including; the recently launched poultry project targeting to produce one million eggs every day and a similar number of broilers a month.
The county is also implementing a dozen health sector projects where it intends to upgrade the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kisumu as well the completion of a Level 5 Hospital in Seme sub county.
Nyong'o's administration also has a huge task of fighting the water hyacinth in Lake Victoria as well as develop the general social infrastructure in the lakeside county.
The governor is expected to chair a high profile meeting involving all top county officials to map out on how to implement key development projects in the county.
