Kitui South MP Rachel Nyamai has an uphill task ahead of her as she seeks to defend her seat in the forthcoming general polls.
Nyamai, will have to camp in different parts of Kitui South to win the seat after she defied NARC Kenya boss Charity Kaluki Ngilu and Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka to join Jubilee Party ahead of the August General polls.
Nyamai has to battle it for the Jubilee ticket before facing the candidate Ngilu and Kalonzo will front for the seat when that time comes.
The MP will be contesting for the Jubilee Party ticket against former Kitui South MP Samuel Kalii Kiminza in the primaries. The MP has been calling upon Jubilee top brass to give her a direct ticket for the seat due to fear of nominations.
In an interview with Nation, Nyamai said that she decided to defect to Jubilee because of the supported the party has accorded her all these years.
“Jubilee supported me in many ways, including ensuring that I remained the committee chairperson,“ she told the local daily.
The outspoken MP added: “I would be ungrateful if I failed to team up with the colleagues I have worked with since 2013. A majority of my supporters wanted me to join Jubilee.”
