According to the constitution, Mutua will not be eligible to contest for his third time. This will pave way Ndeti, who has enjoyed massive support from the residents of Machakos.
Ndeti entry into the governorship race left Mutua in jitters. The lawmaker gave Mutua sleepless nights despite having lost.
The lawmaker was fronted by Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka as he sought to teach Mutua a political lesson. Both Mutua and Ndeti had to pitch tents in different parts of the county in order to win the seat.
Ndeti was banking on the support of Kalonzo and entire National Super Alliance (NASA) team to win the post. Kalonzo fell out with Mutua after he accused him of frustrating his leadership.
According to Mutua, Kalonzo and other Wiper leaders started fighting him from the day he took over power. The county boss vowed to fight on despite the rough time he was allegedly going through because of his political differences with Kalonzo.
