Senator David Musila lamented that he was rigged out of the nominations after being floored by the incumbent Dr. Julius Malombe.  It is interesting to note that Malombe came third in one of the most watched races. Ngilu led with 139,372 votes (47.96 per cent) in results for 1,196 of the 1,454 polling stations.

Senator David Musila followed with 91,763 votes (31.58 per cent) while incumbent Julius Malombe took the fourth post with 59,437 votes (20.46 per cent).  The county boss could not even manage to come third in the governorship race even after enjoying massive support from Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka.

Malombe was confident of beating both Ngilu and Musila, which turned out into a farfetched dream. The county boss boasted of an impressive performance scoreboard but the electorate seems to have a different story to tell. The governor has assured residents of the county that he will do better but it seems his pleas fell on deaf ears.

Malombe political journey seems to have come to a tragic end as he calculates his next move. Despite having put up a spirited fight, the governor lost terribly which has left many people with questions lingering on their mind.
