Some members of Nomiya Church in Bondo will soon be looking for a place of worship after their bishop threatened to kick them out for visiting President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House without his consent, SDE reports.
Archbishop Jared Gondi said that the brethren will be leaving the church if an agreement is reached, adding that they do not approve the endorsement of President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto for another term in office as stated by the members.
“We will crack the whip as a way of ensuring that church members abide by and respect our principles,” he said, laughing off the delegation’s endorsement of Mr Kenyatta’s re-election bid.
Led by their Supreme Archbishop Caleb Olali, the faithfuls said that they believe in the current leadership, arguing that the president had initiated different projects for the benefit of the common mwananchi in different parts of the nation including Luo-Nyanza.
“The members of Nomiya Faith Churches assured the President of their support, saying his leadership has proved its capability in terms of development in the Nyanza region and beyond,” read a dispatch from PSCU.
